Josephine has a broad practice and specialises in all areas of intellectual property and complex commercial disputes. She is experienced in novel representative actions to recover trust funds for beneficiaries.

Josephine has appeared, both led and unled in the Federal Court, NSW Supreme (at trial and on appeal), District and Local Courts, as well as in the Trade Marks Office, the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and New South Wales Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

In 2000, Josephine commenced her career at Mallesons Stephen Jacques (now known as King & Wood Mallesons) in IP/IT, focusing on confidential information, copyright, trade mark and pharmaceutical patent cases, as well as insolvency litigation. In 2001, Josephine won the UNSW Prize for ‘Best Performance in Intellectual Property’ and in 2003 was first called to the NSW Bar.

In 2008, Josephine returned to practice as a solicitor and worked at Spruson & Ferguson, Middletons, Schweizer Kobras and Bannister Law Class Actions. She also participated in Commonwealth prosecutions for online child sexual abuse and social security fraud and NSW prosecutions in relation to consumer protection legislation.

In 2023 Josephine returned to the NSW Bar and in October 2024, was led in a team of four barristers in a five-week patent trial involving three expert concurrent sessions.

Josephine is fluent in Spanish with official qualifications.
